Overlooked in the city

Chocolate Factory artist Sarah Knight works in oil and print to explore her interest in the urban environment. Her paintings currently focus on an exploration of the small and often overlooked elements in the cities she has visited, to create a sense of a city abandoned or in decline.

Her prints use similar imagery to create a more distopian view of known or unknown cityscapes, in order to question the impact the western ideas of ’empire’ and ‘history’ have on how we see the world around us.
